Long COVID MyTailoredTalks project wins Digital Health & Care Award

On 21st February, Holyrood Connect’s 6th annual Digital Health and Care Awards, Scotland’s premier celebration of digital innovation across the health and social care sector took place in Edinburgh.

The awards recognise the achievements of the individuals and teams working in the health, social care and housing sectors whose creativity and innovation continues to put Scotland at the forefront of the digital revolution.

NHS Lothian and Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) collaborated to develop a digital service, the intention of the intervention is to support and enable people through effective and targeted self-management from the long-term impact of Long COVID.

This support is provided through an App or web-based digital platform called MyTailoredTalks, where patients will receive personalised health information, before being offered 1-12 weeks support from a CHSS advice line practitioner.

Supporting independent living and self-managed care is a key component of Scotland’s Digital Health and Care Strategy. Digital technology can play a huge role in empowering individuals to manage their own care journey. The Technology Enabled Independent Living Award celebrates the individuals and organisations from across health, social care, housing and the third sector, who are embracing technology to support more people to live independently.

Long Covid ‘MyTailoredTalks’ is a new technology platform which was rolled out last year, following a successful pilot phase. The platform was developed by Pogo Digital
Healthcare and has been jointly funded by NHS Lothian, CHSS and the NHS Lothian Charity.

Over 70 patients are taking part in the pilot across 26 GP practices in the region.

We are delighted to have won the Technology Enabled Independent Living Award , alongside our partners at Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland and Pogo Digital Healthcare.

It’s fantastic that MyTailoredTalks is being recognised for the support that it provides to people living with Long COVID, and we hope that this will bring more attention to the condition.
