NHS Regional Innovation Hubs strengthen international collaboration in Glasgow

Representatives from the NHS Regional Innovation Hubs attended Scotland’s Cluster Showcase Event, hosted by the Scottish Government at Glasgow Science Centre on Thursday, 11th March 2026.

The event brought together leaders from government, industry, academia and the innovation ecosystem to explore how cluster collaboration can drive economic growth and accelerate innovation across Scotland.

The programme featured keynote addresses from Richard Lochhead, Scotland’s Minister for Business and Employment, alongside international cluster expert from Denmark, Merete Daniel Nielsen. Throughout the day, attendees participated in panel discussions and focused breakout sessions examining how partnerships between industry, research organisations and public services can strengthen innovation capacity and deliver real-world impact.

For the NHS Innovation Hubs, the event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with partners across Scotland’s innovation landscape, share insights on healthcare innovation, and identify opportunities for collaboration that can support the development and adoption of new technologies within the health and care system.

Following the showcase, delegates were invited to an evening reception hosted by the Embassy of Denmark in the United Kingdom at the historic Glasgow City Chambers. The reception brought together key Danish and Scottish stakeholders from government and industry working across the digital and healthcare sectors.

The event created an important platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange between Scotland and Denmark. With a delegation of innovative Danish healthcare companies in attendance, discussions focused on opportunities to collaborate, explore the Scottish healthcare landscape, and strengthen international partnerships that support innovation in health and care.
